I’m Gary, and I head up the Industrial team at our Kettering and Wellingborough offices. I worked in the car industry for years, but as COVID got into full swing, found myself without a job at the very beginning of Lockdown.
With very few options, I contacted ACS Recruitment Solutions, and they placed me as a temp in one of our client’s warehouses in Rushden, where I learned picking, and put away.
It was a far cry from the shiny showrooms and new cars, but I really enjoyed my time there.
Seeing some potential, my account manager, asked me to become a supertemp, where I would report and call out absences, liaise with my account manager and the team managers in the warehouse, and generally be an engagement lead.
An opportunity came up where I could work for ACS directly as an account manager myself, and I jumped at the chance.
Since then, I have taken a pretty steep trajectory, being promoted to Regional Manager, Managing Consultant and now Industrial Manager, not to mention abseil down a tower!!
Outside of work, I enjoy Belgian beers, holidays in Spain and anything vintage or retro.
